Description

The Telerik UI for ASP.NET MVC TextArea serves as a text input field which enables you to provide a floating label functionality to input elements. Besides its basic configuration options, the TextArea component provides accessibility and RTL support.

The current example displays a common use-case scenario for a TextArea component, which features validation based on the type of input expected from the user.

The TextArea control is part of Telerik UI for ASP.NET MVC, a professional-grade UI library with 110+ components for building modern and feature-rich web applications. The TextArea is a server-side wrapper for the Kendo UI for jQuery TextArea component and comes in the form of an HtmlHelper.

Functionality and Features

  • Appearance–With the supported API, you can easily style the appearance of the TextArea.
  • Events–The TextArea supports an extensive set of events to which you can subscribe.
  • Floating label–The TextArea allows you to use a floating label for the component. The floating label displays the type of input a field requires.
  • API–The TextArea exposes rich client-side API and events, which provide easy configuration or extension points for custom functionality on top of the built-in features.
  • RTL support–The right-to-left (RTL) support of the TextArea reflects the ability to render its content in a right-to-left direction for right-to-left languages, such as Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese, or Japanese.
