Kendo UI for jQuery supports validation for many of its components. Validation enables you to restrict user input by using default validation rules or setting up your own custom validation. For example, a validation rule may require that an input element has a value and if that value must match a specific regular expression. Also, with validation you can set minimum and maximum input values or minimum and maximum file sizes for upload, and many, many more depending on the component you are using and the scenario you need to cover.
Whatever the validation rules you want to implement, the validation feature of the Kendo UI for jQuery components is based and built upon on the Kendo UI for jQuery Validator whose capabilities seamlessly integrate with the whole suite components.
The Kendo UI for jQuery Grid provides the functionality to validate the edited value in the cell.
This demo shows how to implement a custom validation rule for the ProductName column.
This Grid example is part of a unique collection of hundreds of jQuery demos, with which you can see all Kendo UI for jQuery components and their features in action. View the source code of the demos from the library or directly adapt, and edit them and their theme appearance in Kendo UI for jQuery Dojo or ThemeBuilder.
